offers a comprehensive, capstone, six credit, six-week summer geology field camp.

Using a geologic transect from the western margin of the craton to the active continental margin of northern California, field camp students will gain both an understanding of crustal evolution of western North America and mapping experience in classic localities including:

For the first two weeks of the geology field camp, we will utilize our permanent field station in Ruth, Nevada. Other parts of the field camp will involve a mobile camp in parts of Western Nevada, the Sierra Nevada and coast of Northern California.

Especially memorable study areas during the field camp will include:
