Scholarships within the Mackay School of Mines:
The Mackay School of Mines has the highest level of scholarships available for student of any college at the University of Nevada, Reno. This is in part possible because of the generous support by industry and private donors. In 2002-2002 more than 50% of Mackay's incoming freshmen received scholarships, with more than $175,000 in scholarship support awarded to undergraduates during this time. These scholarships are awarded in addition to the Nevada Millennium Scholarships.

How to apply:
The scholarship application is included in the application workbook for admission to the University, and is also available on the UNR website. In order to be considered for a Mackay scholarship, students must be accepted by the University by February 1.

For more information, please contact either Liz Ball (ball@mines.unr.edu) or Leslie Rumph (rumph@mines.unr.edu), Coordinators of Student Services, (775) 327-2056.

Scholarship and financial aid applications are available from your high school counseling office and the University of Nevada, Reno, financial aid office. Filing one application will make you eligible for both University-wide and Mackay School of Mines scholarships
