Delphi Round 2- Introduction

For the next sequence in the Delphi Process, we have delineated three specific tasks to address.

First, we have compiled an anonymous list of all responses received, as well as a synthesis of these responses, to share with the group. This response list is provided in the MS Word file, titled ComAnon1.doc. All information that could potentially reveal the identity of its author was removed in order to preserve anonymity. It is our hope that this editing did not substantially alter the ideas of its original writers.

Also attached is a synthesis of your responses, written by Eric Rodenburg of the USGS. The synthesis is available in MS Word format, titled DelpSyn1.doc.. As part of the second iteration of the Delphi Process, we would like you to read this synthesis and provide comments.

Also provided is a description of indicators, written by Eric Rodenburg. The description is provided in MS Word format, titled IndicDef.doc. As another task for the second round of the Delphi Process, we would like feedback on this description. Does the concept of an indicator require further clarification? Conversely, is there information included in the description that should be removed? Please don’t hesitate to make suggestions regarding how to improve this definition.

Lastly, based upon the preceding two tasks, we’d like you to give some thought to where the Sustainable Minerals Roundtable will be going from this point forward. What tasks should we address next? What information would you like to see presented and/or discussed at our next formal meeting?

Again, while we are not placing any length limitations on responses, we encourage you to present your viewpoints as succinctly as possible to facilitate completion of this process in a timely manner. Responses may be sent via electronic mail to Deborah Shields at dshields@fs.fed.us.
