We are pleased to announce that we have confirmed dates and a venue for the next meeting of the Sustainable Minerals Roundtable. Our upcoming session will be held in Anchorage, Alaska for 2 days over Tuesday, July 31 and Wednesday, August 1, at the Anchorage Hilton.

Again, we hope to have new participants join the Roundtable discussions. With this in mind, we will use the first half-morning of the meeting, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., as a review session to familiarize new participants with materials covered by the Roundtable to date. Of course, all Roundtable participants are invited to attend both full days of the meeting. However, the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday are slated for coverage of new material. Additional information on the agenda for the July/August 2001 meeting will be forthcoming after July 1, 2001.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to provide some logistical information. Since we will be traveling to Anchorage during peak tourist season, arrangements should be made as soon as possible. For this reason, we also wanted to provide basic logistics information for that session. We will be meeting on Tuesday, July 31 and Wednesday, August 1, in the Fireweed Room at the Hilton Anchorage, located at 500 West 3rd Avenue.

The Hilton has set aside a block of rooms for SMR participants at a government rate of $149 plus tax per night single occupancy, $169 per night plus tax double occupancy. These rates are available for the nights of Monday, July 30, Tuesday, July 31, and Wednesday, August 1, as well as three days before and after the aforementioned dates.

You must specifically request the "Sustainable Minerals Roundtable" rate. Please note that all reservations must be made by Friday, June 15, 9 p.m. MDT. After that date, reservations will be made at prevailing rates based upon availability. Reservations must be altered or cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival.
